About the event
Create Your Own Fabric is a hands-on sustainability workshop where participants will transform fabric scraps into unique new textile creations. Using sewing machines and creative layering techniques, students will learn how to repurpose fabric remnants that might otherwise go to waste, giving them new life as colorful and functional fabric.
This beginner-friendly class explores sustainability through sewing while encouraging creativity, experimentation, and resourcefulness. Participants will create their own one-of-a-kind fabric panel and learn techniques that can be applied to future sewing, quilting, textile art, and upcycling projects.
If time permits, participants may also begin transforming their newly created fabric into a simple project such as a tote bag, pillow cover, pouch, or other creative item.
All materials and sewing machines are provided. No prior sewing experience is required.
