Sew a Seed Foundation is a Dallas-based 501c3 nonprofit using sewing and textile arts as the foundation to connect creativity with STEM learning, collaborative arts, and real-world pathways for youth and adults.

Our Mission

Sew a Seed Foundation empowers underserved and BIPOC communities by providing access to sewing and other collaborative arts education, tools, and creative resources. Through workshops, scholarships, community projects, and partnerships, we nurture creativity, foster economic opportunity, and cultivate spaces where makers of all ages can learn, grow, and thrive.

We believe sewing is more than a skill—it’s a pathway to confidence, connection, and community transformation.

Special Announcement for City of Dallas Organizations!

We proudly partner with schools, nonprofits, libraries, cultural centers, and community organizations to bring sewing and textile arts programming all around the DFW metroplex and beyond, however we have a special opportunity for Dallas Organizations.

Through the City of Dallas Community Arts Program (CAP) Grant, eligible organizations within the City of Dallas may be able to request free sewing workshops for their community. Free and low-cost sewing and textile arts classes for youth, adults, and seniors across Dallas.
